What to Know Before Ordering Branded Merchandise

What to Know Before Ordering Branded Merchandise

Whether it’s your first order or your fiftieth, getting branded merch right comes down to three things: clarity, planning, and working with a team who knows the process inside and out. That’s where we come in.

If you’re thinking about ordering custom products for an event, client gift, employee kit, or to keep your brand stocked, here’s what to know before you hit go:

1. Start With the Goal, Not the Product

Before you start picking out products, take a step back. What’s the purpose of this merch? Are you trying to make an impression at an event? Reward your team? Send a wow-worthy gift?

The best merch choices flow from the outcome you’re trying to create. That’s why we always start with strategy before jumping into product selection.

2. Lead Times Matter (Yes, Even for Simple Items)

Custom products aren’t pulled off a shelf. They’re sourced, proofed, printed, and delivered on a timeline.

While we move fast, we also believe in getting it right. That’s why we recommend starting your order 3–6 weeks out, especially for events or kits with multiple items.

3. Your Logo Files Matter

Not all logos are created equal. For the cleanest, most professional result, we need vector files (such as .AI, .EPS, or .PDF). JPGs and PNGs might work for mockups, but they don’t cut it for print.

Don’t have the right file? We can help recreate it.

4. Budget Isn't Just About Quantity; It's About Imprint Method Too

A 1-color screen print will cost less than a full-color digital transfer. Embroidery pricing depends on stitch count, not color.

We’ll walk you through your options and explain what works best for your items and your budget.

5. Not All Promo Is Created Equal

Cheap giveaways that end up in the trash don’t do your brand any favors. We'll help you choose items that people actually want to keep. The goal is to select products that will feel good, look better, and stay in use.

6. Trust the Process

We’ve streamlined the entire workflow to make things easy for you. From product selection all the way through proofs and up to delivery, we'll handle the details so you don’t have to.

Ready to get started? Let’s make something people want to keep.
